PROCEEDING OF THE MEETING OF THE SEED CONVENTION-2009 HELD ON 19-01-2009
The Proceedings of the Seed Convention 2009 meeting held on 19-01-2009 in the conference hall of Commissionerate of Agriculture, Sheshadri Road, Bangalore at 11.00 a.m under the chairman ship of the Managing Director, Karnataka State Seeds Corporation and Mission Director, SAMA.

The Managing Director welcome the all the participant and apprise that it is contemplated to hold Seed Convention 2009 to make Karnataka a Global Destination for Seed Production and also to promote Seed Industry in Karnataka. In the programme it is contemplated to provide an opportunity to participate 5,000 Seed Producing Farmers, seed producers operating in Karnataka, representatives from State Seed Certification Agencies, State Agriculture Universities, Private National & Multinational Seed Companies, NGOs, Externally Aided Projects of Government and also other connected Industries participant promoting the Seed Industry like Seed Treatment Chemical Industries, Seeds Processing handling and other complementing Industries promoting the growth of Seed Industry in the County.

Further it is also propose to promote training Programme for all the seed producing farmers and also to other stake holding agencies to improve the efficiency of the Management of the Seed Companies.

The Seed Convention – 2009 will be held at following locations.

Programme Inauguration:-
The Programme will be inaugurated by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Karnataka and presided by Hon'ble Agriculture Minister, Government of Karnataka in the presence of Members of Parliament and MLAs of the Davanagere District.

Further the Managing Director also explained the provisions available under Rastriya Krishi Vikasa Yojana and Karnataka Seed Mission 2008-12 and certain facilities and discussion it also be extended to all the participating certified seed growers, seed growers of both public and private companies with approval of the concerned authority.

In this regard it is proposed to develop integrated system to promote the seed industry and constitute sub-committees to discuss and present the implementable recommendation with a detailed project proposal.

A separate Committees for following group of crops were proposed and the concerned chairman of the committee were permitted to constituted were following groups and them also consult Sri. K. Ananda Krishna and Sri. R. Ramamurthy, General Manager, KSSC., Bangalore.

Other working groups will be constituted such as
1. Reception committee.
2. Accommodation Committee.
3. Food Committee.
4. Exhibition Committee.
5. Souvenir Committee.
6. Dias and pendal and seating arrangement committee including sound system and screen arrangement committee.
7. Media Co-ordination Committee.
8. Public Relation Committee.

Further it is also proposed constitute a working committee under the Chairman ship of Managing Director, KSSC., to overall plan, monitor, implement and manage the programme successfully with the following members.
